19.1 Comandando Ações: O Imperativo (The Imperative) ❗
O Imperativo (Imperative) é usado para dizer a alguém o que fazer ou o que não fazer. Ele é formado usando a forma base do verbo (infinitivo sem "to"). O sujeito ("you" - você/vocês) geralmente é omitido, pois está implícito.
Usamos o imperativo para:
- Dar Ordens/Comandos: Ex: Sit down! (Sente-se!)
- Dar Instruções: Ex: Open your books to page 10. (Abram seus livros na página 10.)
- Fazer Pedidos (pode ser suavizado com "please"): Ex: Close the door, please. (Feche a porta, por favor.)
- Dar Conselhos/Avisos: Ex: Be careful! (Tenha cuidado!)
- Fazer Ofertas/Convites: Ex: Have some cake. (Pegue um pouco de bolo.)

Para formar o imperativo afirmativo, simplesmente usamos a forma base do verbo.

Para formar o imperativo negativo, usamos Do not ou a contração Don't antes da forma base do verbo.
